For over 30 years, SuperSwim Systems have been adaptable, long-lasting, and made right here in the U.S.A.! Not only do we offer the best swim tether system on the market, but we also make them super easy to install! Step-by-step videos and detailed instructions (with pictures!) are provided for each system, so you can get started on your water workout after a few simple steps. For now, you can find a brief overview of each SuperSwim system’s installation process below.
SuperSwim In-Deck System
The SuperSwim In-Deck System is installed directly into pool decks made of concrete, brick, stone, or wood. It is a permanent addition that turns your pool area into the perfect space for pool resistance training. It’s important to remember to measure the space carefully, as you will be drilling into the pool deck and anchoring the base with expansion concrete. Follow a few simple steps and you’re ready to proceed with your at-home swim tether workout.
01. Measure the Space
Determine the exact installation location for your SuperSwim In-Deck System by measuring and making sure there is enough swimming space at the station(s). A minimum of 15 ft. (4.5 M) of swimming space is needed for all pools and spas. In some cases, the required distance of swimming space can be reduced to 12 ft. (3.6 M) by changing variables such as the installation point and shortening the adjustable cord (See FIG.01).
It is recommended to have 5 ft. (1.5 M) of space on either side of the intended swimming direction for novice swimmers. This extra space will help avoid contact with the pool walls as a result of drift. For odd shaped pools, install the anchor in the best spot to gain the maximum amount of swimming area (See FIG.02). NOTE: The swimming direction can be off at an angle. You do not have to swim directly straight from the installation point. The pole will adjust to your direction.
02. Drill into the Pool Deck
Now that you have determined the correct point of installation, drill a hole that is 1 in. (2.5 cm) in diameter and 4 in. (10 cm) deep using a 1 in. (2.5 cm) concrete (masonry) drill bit. If the pool has a deck without a raised edge, install the SuperSwim System 4-6 in. (10-15cm) back from the edge or lip (See FIG.03). If you have a paver’s deck, we recommend drilling into the first brick (the coping) off the edge of the pool. NOTE: The use of a Hammer Drill works best but is not necessary.
03. Install Base Using Expansion Concrete
Clean the hole and surrounding area with a wet cloth, removing all the drilling powder. Fit the base into the hole to make sure it goes all the way in. The round plate should be flush with the deck.
04. Let Set for 2 Hours
Remove the base and mix about 3/4 of the expansion concrete with water in a small cup or bowl until it has the consistency of thick gravy. Pour the grout into the hole about 1/3 full. Press the base all the way into the hole. Clean up any excess grout with a wet cloth. Let remaining grout set for 2 hours before using. If the pool is in use, cover the base with a damp towel.
PLEASE NOTE: Directions are slightly different for installing into a wood deck or pre-existing hole, so please be sure to read the directions that match your installation needs in the Installation and Assembly Manual included with your product.

SuperSwim Ladder & Handrail Clamp-On System
The SuperSwim Ladder & Handrail Clamp-On System is the easiest system to set up. It is also the most portable and compact resistance training system available. Whether you’re traveling, living in an apartment complex, or training clients at their homes, this swim tether system is perfect for all swimmers and takes less than 30 seconds to set up. And, with a durable athletic bag to hold everything, it is incredibly convenient!
01. Secure the Clamp-On Base Around Ladder or Handrail
Open the Clamp-On base and place it around the vertical handrail tubing. Close the Clamp-On base around the handrail and swing the latching bolt into the “U” shaped slot. Turn the knob until tight securing the clamp-on base in place and secure.
02. Insert Pole into Base
Be sure the pole receptacle is facing up. Put the pole into the base making sure the pole goes all the way down into the designated hole. NOTE: you may have to loosen the knob slightly to get the pole to set all the way in the designated hole. Position the tip of the pole in the direction of swimming.

SuperSwim Storable Water Base System
The SuperSwim Storable Water Base System works well with any in-ground pool. It is easy to set up, reliable, portable and offers the same great stationary swimming experience as all of our other systems. Once the 50-gallon base is filled up, it becomes an anchor to support even Olympic-caliber swimmers. While it is recommended for novice swimmers to position the base at the shallow end of the pool, you can place it anywhere around the pool that will allow for 15ft (4.5m) of swimming space. Even swimming at an angle from a corner is an option!
01. Position Base with Pole Socket Facing Pool
Place the portable base at the shallow end of the pool deck. This position is recommended as a safety precaution when used by a beginner and provides ease is securing the belt on the waist (See FIG.01).
Position the base with the SuperSwim pole socket side towards the water along the pool edge and the flat side away from the pool. The base should be centered to give the swimmer clearance from either side of the pool when in use. NOTE: Placement is not limited to the shallow end or length wise of the pool. You can place the anchor anywhere around the pool that will allow for 15 ft. (4.5 M) of swimming space; even swimming out at an angle from a corner is an option.
02. Fill Base with Water
Remove the filler Cap near the SuperSwim pole socket and fill the base with water. After the base is completely full, replace the filler cap.
03. Insert Pole into Base
Place the pole in the base socket with the tip and hook facing the water. Your SuperSwim with Storable Water Base System is now ready for use.

SuperSwim Above-Ground Pool System
The SuperSwim Above Ground Pool System is anchored into the ground outside of your above-ground pool. There is no cementing involved, so the bae can be removed if necessary. In just a few minutes, you can anchor the stainless steel base and begin your pool resistance training. It is important to remember that the top rail of the pool may be weak. If so, you will need a retainer cord to support the rail and prevent it from bending under the weight of the swimming load.
01. Determine the Best Location & Drill U-Bolt into Top Rail
The SuperSwim will create torque inward towards the pool while in use. Locate the position on the top rail of the above ground pool that offers the strongest resistance by pushing on it inwards towards the water. This may differ depending on the make and model of your above ground pool. When you find the strongest area along the top rail mark the spot install the U-shaped bolt by drilling two 1/4 inch holes in the top rail. The U-shaped bolt will secure the Above Ground Pool System to your pool (See FIG.01).
02. Drive Stake into the Ground to Secure the PVC Pipe
Place the PVC anchor in the U-bolt loosely. Make sure it is straight up and down. Mark the spot on the ground where the bottom of the PVC anchor is located. The top of the PVC anchor has the SuperSwim decal on it. Drive the stake in at a 5 degree angle away from the pool leaving 6 in. (15 cm) sticking out of the ground. The stake is installed to secure the bottom of the PVC anchor. No cementing is needed to allow for system removal.
03. Place the PVC Pipe into Position and Insert Pole
Place the bottom of the PVC anchor station over the steel stake. Secure the top of the PVC anchor by tightening the Stainless Steel U-bolt. Put the SuperSwim pole in the top of the PVC anchor and now you are ready to swim. Be sure to start out slowly to test the strength of your above ground pool top railing. NOTE: If the top rail of the pool is weak it may need a retainer cord to hold it from bending in when under swimming load.
